Happenings

We have had a busy end of the summer and beginning of school around here. Both of our parents were able to make a quick trip to see us as well as some extended family members on my side. It was great to spend some time with my cousin Stevie and his nephew David and David's wife, Pam. We also had some friends of ours from NE come and visit us over Labor Day weekend. It was so much fun to spend some time with them as we showed them around the city, visited a state park, and toured the Dells. I think all of us could have done without my great idea of shopping there. We ended up looking at too many stores of "touristy junk." Not sure if touristy is a word, but it fits the description of the stuff. On our way home, we ended up stuck in tons of traffic but at least we had good company. Thanks, Josh and Sarah, for making the trip to see us. Next time, bring your boat!

I finally feel like we have gotten into a groove with school. Because of our new "student," we have had to change our "school" location to the kitchen. Bo is doing great with his studies of house training and the correct items to chew. :) He waits patiently until recess when he knows that he is going to get some action. One particular day I decided to let Isaac and Bo out early since they were a little too rambunctious. After finishing up the boys lessons, I looked outside and found what the two of them had been up to. To my amazement, they had found a dirt pile and Isaac was shoveling the dirt while Bo was digging. It was even worse because it had recently rained. I think that Isaac must have put his piles of dirt on Bo because I don't know how a dog could get so dirty otherwise. I have come to the realization that I am not a true blogger mom since I didn't grab the camera. All I could think about was how I was going to get them clean. I actually ran out of hot water in the process which hasn't happened all summer even with all of our company. After that incident I decided to entertain the two inside!

Last week we were able to go to the WI Fellowship of Baptist Churches' annual conference. We stayed in a hotel that had a water park which allowed the boys to have some fun, especially since their cousins came for the afternoon. The conference was so encouraging and I was able to reconnect with a friend from my college days.

Thank you to the many of you who have been praying for our church here. It has been so exciting to see the Lord working and bringing several new families and individuals to our ministry. We are so thankful for the college students coming who are helping us in our children's ministry. Having them around on the weekends brings me back to my college days and makes me realize how old I am really getting. I still can't believe I will be half way through my thirties this year. Where does the time go?
