One way to get some R&R

I wanted to just let some know that Kelly will be having some "minor" surgery tomorrow. Please keep her in your prayers. For the lady who is always behind the camera or behind the scenes, she is truly a remarkable lady. Now, I know she will absolutely kill me for putting this picture of her up on the web, but I could not resist. I finally found a picture of her!

We go in tomorrow at Noon. I will keep you posted. Thanks for all of our church people who are preparing meals and have offered to watch the kids. I am also grateful to have Wayne and Sylvia down to help for at least the day of surgery and then on Thursday. Now we will see if I can keep the homefront up and running with the Master Chief, Chef, Cleaner, and Educator on her back for a few days. Sure is a funny way to get a vacation! (LOL) Love you, Sweetheart. - Adam

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday we woke up to a beautiful scene outside. I have been anxiously awaiting our first snow. I know I am crazy, but I just love snow! Maybe it is because I can stay home and enjoy it instead of having to drive in it every day.

After the boys were done playing outside, I snapped this photo. It just doesn't fit with Isaac wearing a summer hat and he and Caleb drinking a slushy. I guess they wanted to enjoy summer just a little longer.

I somehow managed to talk my hubby into putting up the Christmas village with me that afternoon. If you know Adam, you know that he is adamantly against any Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving. I think he is softening since we have Christmas lights up (called seasonal lights by him) and now have the village out. It might take me twelve more years to get the tree up early but you never know! :)

The Birthday Boy

It is so hard for me to believe that my baby is already four. He keeps telling me that he isn't a baby anymore, but he will always be to me. Isaac fills our home with so much laughter. His funny sayings, facial expressions, and crazy moves are so entertaining. There is never a dull moment with him around. I am so thankful that God blessed us with such a wonderful boy.

Emergency Room Here We Come!

I guess I had a weak moment the other day and agreed to letting my brother give the boys his little motorcycle. They are so excited, but all I keep thinking of is the possible injuries. Here is a clip of their first experience on the bike.

Poor Bo

I was trying to explain to the boys why Bo had to be neutered. Micah was distraught and said, "You mean that Bo will never be able to get married!" He then thought about it and commented that it might be better since it would be weird for Bo to get married and still live with us. This is the child that has had marriage on his mind lately. He is so worried about having to ask a girl to marry him and then he will have to kiss her in front of everyone. I am sure these feelings will change way too soon.

Bo has to wear this crazy contraption on his head. He is already clumsy so adding a huge circle around his head that won't fit through a door is proving to be too much of a challenge for him. Hopefully, he will not have to wear this thing much longer for all of our sakes.

Fall Activities

Last weekend we were able to get together with my brother and his family. We had a wonderful time at a pumpkin patch and then spent the rest of the evening at their place. It is so nice to be able to see them more often and especially my adorable niece.

Isaac and I went on a date to celebrate his upcoming birthday. We went to Culvers and enjoyed our time talking about all kinds of things related to science. It is amazing to me how much he is learning just listening to me teach his brothers. We topped off the meal with a chocolate sundae covered with M&M's.

It has actually been cold enough here to want to get our fireplace working. We went to a friends place and we chopped and loaded enough wood to last us for the winter. It was so beautiful to be out in the woods with the fall colors. I just love this time of year!

Please Pray!

My heart is so heavy today as I read one of my friend's blog. Most of you know the Brokerings or have heard us ask for prayer for this dear family. Warren has been battling for several years with cancer and seems to be near the end of his battle. They have had an incredible testimony through this whole experience and have been such an example to so many people including myself. They are, in my opinion, true heroes of the faith. Please pray for them!!

You can see their blog here.
